Bogalusa High School JROTC Lumberjack Battalion
Uniform Inspection/Battalion & Company Awards Ceremony/Battalion Photo
The JROTC Lumberjack Battalion Staff conducted their uniform inspection, awards ceremony, Company mottos and Battalion Photo on 24 January 2024 at 2:00. The Battalion looked so professional in their dress blue uniform known as the Army Service Uniform. The BN was also awarded their yellow star (which represents Honor Unit with Distinction (HUD) for excelling during their Program of Accreditation Inspection School Year 2022/2023 receiving a 99.5 out of 100 points. Company personnel received some of their ribbons that are not given at the big Awards Ceremony usually held in April. Awards are reflective of a Cadet's demonstrated ability to accomplish goals, achievement of excellence and recognize Cadet's untiring efforts and dedication to personal development, learning, and teamwork. This achievement reflects great credit upon yourself, the school, US Army Cadet Command, and the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. Dr. Eric Greely stopped by to observe the Battalion in action. After each Company gave their mottos, 1SG Rogers had the principle pick the best Company Motto and that was Alpha Company. A military motto is a symbol of each branch's history and legacy of service to this nation. Each one is distinct, demonstrating the most important values of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Space Force. Here in JROTC the Companies come up with a fun saying talking about how great their Company is compared to the other ones. Mottos help build esprit de corps and adds a little fun challenge amongst the Companies and bragging rights if you have the best one like Alpha Company.
