
The BHS Raiders conducted operation "Make a 5K" at Cassidy Park.
This route will be used for Raider competitions and training events to prepare our Raiders for future events.
A special thank you to the City of Bogalusa for allowing us to conduct this operation.


Senior students in Mr. Matt Strahan's English IV classes are currently reading the novel 1984 by George Orwell. They were tasked with designing a new book cover as they explored characters, plot, setting, symbolism, and conflict in the novel. Great job, senior scholars!!

As we dismiss school for our break, we congratulate these students that won tickets to use at the Washington Parish Free Fair. All students' names were placed in a drawing, and the following won:

All of our BHS juniors attended a mini ACT boot camp yesterday. Mr. Key'Shawn Kennedy shared helpful ELA tips with the students. Students were instructed in small groups, which allowed for engagement, immediate feedback, and time for support. He will be back two more times in February before the ACT is given to all 11th graders. Math assistance will also be made available. We are giving our students the necessary tools to succeed!





Our Lumberjack Cadets assisted and supported the 112th "Small Town, Big Fair" Banquet at the Coke Plant in Bogalusa.

We look forward to welcoming our parents to BHS OPEN HOUSE tomorrow, Tuesday, October 8. 2024. We will begin at 6:00 PM in the school auditorium for a brief assembly. Parents will then be dismissed to their student's classrooms. See you there!!


Big Band Lumberjack Marching Band Member of the Week Jayah Bateman is a 10th grade student at BHS! Jayah is a trombone section leader. She has developed into an amazing leader and musician. Jayah has attended Southern University High School Band Camp and is a part of the band class at Southeastern Louisiana University through Project Upward Bound. Please help us congratulate Jayah!!!


Today our BHS Raiders competed at Camp Villerie. Ten schools were in attendance. It was a very close competition Wow,. Our Cadets shined and showcased in all categories.

3rd Place- 5k Team Run
3rd Place- Obstacle Course
3rd Place- Fitness Team Test
3rd Place overall
As for District Championship, our Bogalusa Raiders are runner-ups (2nd Place). Great job, BHS Raiders!!!!!!











We are pleased to announce our Bogalusa High School Homecoming Court 2024!!!! Congratulations to all elected by the student body! We look forward to our senior young ladies campaigning this week for title of queen, which will be announced at the homecoming game! Celebrations and activities leading up to the game begin October 21. We look forward to celebrating with our entire community!!

Students with perfect attendance in August were treated to a jambalaya lunch and picnic with a family member. Students and their families sat together on blankets and enjoyed a delicious meal and beautiful weather. Attendance at school is imperative to a student's success. We look forward to next month's attendance event!











Our Big Bad Lumberjack Marching Band performed at the City of Bogalusa Breast Cancer Awareness Rally. They always make us SO proud!💕💓💞








BHS Librarian Mrs. Amy Adams completed library orientation with the 6th grade ELA classes over the last few weeks. Students learned how the library is organized and important purposes of the school library. Students then completed a scavenger hunt in groups, which gave them the opportunity to explore and become familiar and comfortable with their
library. 📚📖
